NASHIK : Mythology has it that Lord Rama, had made Nashik his temporary abode during the 14 years of his exile. Ramkund, Muktidham Temple, Coin Museum, Kalaram Temple are worth seeing.
TRIMBKESHWAR : It is the one among the 12 Jyortirlingas .
BHIMASHANKAR : It is the one among the 12 Jyortirlingas .this is one of the five Shivalite temples that are major pilgrim centers.
MAHABALESHWAR : The summer capital of Bombay Presidency during the days of the British, it is a mountain top plateau often covered with a light morning mist. Venna Lake, Fort Pratapgad, Panchgini or Five Hills, Tapola ( Mini Switzerland ) are eye catching points of this wonderful hill station.
AURANGABAD : Scores of Muslim monuments and tombs and Buddhist caves are to be found in and around the city. Aurangabad Caves, Bibi-Ka-Maqbara, Pan Chakki, Daultabad, Bani Begum Gardens, are worth seeing.
AJANTA : The rock-cut caves of Ajanta nestle in a panoramic gorge shaped like a gigantic horseshoe. Chaitya Halls, Ajanta view Point, Ajanta Fort and Paru’s Tomb, Anwa Temple, are interesting places.
ELLORA : The finest specimens of cave-temple architecture, they house elaborate facades and house exquisitely adorned interiors. These structures representing the three faiths of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Grishneshwar - One of the “12 Jyortirlingas” of India, built by Rani Ahilyabai Holkar is also located here.
Aundha Nagnath : It is a pligrim centre of great significance since it is considered to be the first (adya) of the “12 Jyortirlingas” in the country.
PARLI VAIJNATH : One of the “12 Jyortirlingas” of India.
TULJAPUR : It is famous for the temple of Tulja Bhawani (Goddess Durga). It is said that before venturing a military expedition Shivaji always came here to seek her blessings.
SHIRDI : Abode of Sai Baba of Shirdi, popularly known as the “Child of God”. Sai Baba preached tolerance towards all religions and the message of universal brotherhood.
SAPTASHRINGI DEVI TEMPLE : At Wani is the temple of goddess Saptashringi. The goddess is supposed to be self-manifested. Also known as the goddess possessing 18 weapons in 18 hands.
LONAWALA- KHANDALA : Lonawala - Khandala are charming hills on the western slopes of the Sahyadri hills. Its clean crisp air greets you as you wind your way up the steep ghats, leaving the humidity, heat and dust behind. Both Lonawala and Khandala offer breathtaking views of cascading waterfalls.

MURUD - JANGIRA : Formerly the capital town of the Siddis of Janjira, who built here their palaces. Murud is today popular for its alluring beach, and an ancient fort. On a hillock is the shrine of Lord Dattatrya, the three heads representing Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara. The 300 year old fort of Jangira is an architectural marvel.
VENGURLA-MALVAN : Its long stretch of white sands and hill covered by cashew, coconut, jackfruit and mango groves. The town has two well-known temples Shri Devi Satelri and Rameshwar Mandir.
GANPATIPULE : The Sun-kissed beach and lush green of Ganpatipule inevitably draws tourist back, year after year. The added attraction is a 400 year old temple which houses the Swayambhoo Ganpati.
VIAJYDURG SINDHUDURG : Viajydurg and Sindhudurg bear martial supremacy during Shivaji’s reign. Vijaydurg - fort of victory was strengthened around 17th century. by Shivaji to whom it owes its finest features - the triple line of walls.
KARLA : One of the best-preserved caves dating back to 160 BC.
MATHERAN : Travailing to Matheran by a tiny narrow guage toy train, one of the last mini trains in the world. This “Car free” eco-friendly hill station situated at 803 mtr. above sea level offers salubrious climate.
KOLHAPUR : Kolhapur is located on the Panchganga river nestling along the Sahyadri ranges The Mahalkshmi Temple, The New Palace - Shree Chhatrapati Shahu Museum, Rankala Lake, etc. are worth visiting.
TORANMAL : Toranmal is one of the most peaceful place. Yashwant Lake and seetha Khali temple are main attractions.
BHANDARDARA : Nestling admits the hills, Bhandardara is easily among the most beautiful holiday resort. A perfect stopover on the way to or from Shirdi, it is a charming little picnic spot. Wilson Dam, Randha Falls, Arthur Lake, Ratangadh, etc. are worth visiting.
PANDHARPUR : Pandharpur, situated on the shores of the Chandrabhaga river. Temple of Vithoba & Rukmani are worth worshiping.
